Project Overview

PayEm is a global spend and procurement platform for modern finance teams. I joined as the solo product designer for an 8-month with a primary mission: to design and deliver an entirely new invoicing solution from scratch while simultaneously improving the overall user experience across the platform.

Because the invoicing feature didn’t exist, I was responsible for shaping the entire experience—aligning business goals, complex technical constraints, and diverse user needs into a single, cohesive product.

The challenge

PayEm's platform was powerful but lacked a critical component: native invoicing. Customers were forced to use third-party tools, creating a disjointed and inefficient experience. The challenge was not just to build a new feature, but to design a foundational pillar of the product.

As the solo product designer, I led the entire design initiative for the invoicing module. I drove the project from initial research and strategy through to high-fidelity prototypes, usability testing, and final developer handoff, presenting design solutions and contributing directly to the product strategy.
